Reflecting back to the first Dworniak Bone Lapsa summer 2012 recording session for the concept album
‘Fingers Pointing At The Moon’
Plans started hatching in Laurel Cottage, St. Boswells in Scotland where Chris and his wife Lizzie lived with their 2 daughters, Jessie & Elsie. Phase 1 was to bring all the musicians to record in Riverfish Studio Penzance, Cornwall over a 3 – 4 week session.
Musician friends were booked for a few days each plus a bit of overlap for hanging out. Danny Cummings on drums & percussion, Jim Watson on keys & synths, Phil Smith on saxophone, Melvin Duffy on pedal guitar, Dorie Jackson singing backing vocals, Joe Dworniak on bass guitar, Greg Bone on lead guitar and Chris Lapsa lead vocals & additional guitar.
The Riverfish kitchen was in full creative swing, led by the collective cooks in the house; Joe, Vicky, Lizzie and Nuala. Menus included some fantastic brunches and delicious dinners including Joe’s legendary ‘Paella’ .
We ate, drank, laughed and even had a little bit of time for play on the beach – It was a helluva summer with some great music made!
