iLEVEL

Sam Jones and Joe Dworniak have continued writing together and released a track in 2021.    They formed iLEVEL with Duncan Bridgeman in the ’80’s at the tail end of the Brit-funk era.  They were a post-disco, R&B band, known for their underground UK club tracks ‘Minefield’, ‘Give Me’ and rare groove track ‘In The Sand’.   They were signed to Virgin Records in 1982 and a signed publishing deal with April Music by Lucien Grange (Universal Music Group).  The band had some chart success in the UK and US with a top 5 R&B single under license to the US label Epic Records.

Over the years ‘Give Me’ has been sampled by Sandy Kerr on ‘Thug Rock’ (1982);  AZ featuring Nas on ‘Gimme Yours’ on the 1995 album Doe or Die;  Lost Boyz on ‘So Love’ on their 1997 album, Love, Peach and Happiness;  and A Tribe Called Quest on ‘Give Me’ (featuring Noreaga) on their 1998 album, ‘The Love Movement’ ;  Most recently ‘Give Me’ was released on the compilation album Gary Crowley’s Lost 80s by Demon Music (2019).
